The Power of Blessing

Join us. This Friday night in Montreal I will weave in the methods of Jewish Spiritual Education as developed by the Maggid-Educator Training Program while teaching on "The Power of Blessing" and also have the privilege of blessing Rabbi Sherril Gilbert upon her attainment of rabbinic smichah from the Yeshiva Mesifta Adas Wolkowisk. Services begin at 7 pm.

Passover is a holy opera of spirit for which we prepare by cleaning and resetting the stage of our lives. different dishes, special foods, and a whole program called the seder (order) found in a book that is updated throughout the generations-- the Haggadah. This is lest we forget the gift inherent in creation's possibilities--and that gift is freedom!

When is Purim 2017? Dates and Thoughts on Preparation and Celebration

Purim begins after sundown on Saturday, March 11th this year and finishes the evening of Sunday, March 12th. How did Esther whip the King and evil vizier Haman into shape? By using everything she had to make a difference. I'm imagining us pouring costumed out of our Purim events with signs that unite people around shared Jewish values like healthcare, education, honesty, care for the poor and refugees, welcoming immigrants for we remember where we came from, care for the environment, support for culture and the arts. Who would you be?
